Those who know me know that I love writing grants for my students and my school. I have been blessed with receiving over $30,000 worth of grant funding in the past 5 years alone--but I've also received a lovely slew of "Not at this time" letters to balance the treasure.
Needless to say, I've learned a few things along the way.
Writing a grant can be time-consuming, but very worthwhile when crafted thoughtfully. Some applications are very straightforward and guide you along step by step, while others are much more in-depth and require extensive planning. Many also expect feedback from both you and your students so they can see exactly how their generosity was applied.
Whatever your classroom desires, chances are there's a matching grant out there somewhere.
I plan to list grants as I come across them--new ones, as well as ones I am familiar with, so that you can find resources at your fingertips. Not everything has to come out of our pockets!!! There are a lot of generous people out there!
Happy Grant Writing!!
